Oke-Aro Gets New Police Station as Hon. Fola Salami Hands Over Constituency Project, Hon. Isiaka Pledges Solar Light and Patrol Bus Support

The people of Oke-Aro community have received a major boost in security infrastructure as Hon. Fatiu Fola Salami, Member representing Ifo II State Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly, commissioned and officially handed over the newly completed Oke-Aro Police Station (Yellow House).

The landmark project, one of several constituency interventions facilitated by Hon. Salami in 2025, is designed to strengthen law enforcement presence, enhance public safety, and ensure peace within Oke-Aro and its surrounding communities.

The commissioning ceremony drew an impressive gathering of political leaders, lawmakers, security chiefs, and community stakeholders. In attendance were the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Bolanle Ajayi, alongside Honourable Members including Hon. Prince Babatunde Tella, Hon. Walter Amosun, Hon. Atobatele, Hon. Soneye, Hon. Egungbohun and many others.

In his remarks, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for approving the funds that made the project possible. He emphasized that the successful delivery of the police station was a testament to the cordial working relationship between the executive and legislative arms of government, which continues to foster meaningful development across the state.

Also present was the Hon. Member representing Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Hon. Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka, who, in his goodwill remarks, pledged to further support the new station with the donation of a solar-powered streetlight for its premises and a pickup bus to ease the mobility and operational efficiency of the police.

Respected apex leaders such as Chief Derin Adebiyi, Aare Alabi, Engr. Collins (MHR), Hon. Enilolobo, Hon. Dapo Adeyemi, Hon Ganiu Oyedeji GOCO, and other prominent dignitaries also graced the occasion. The Executive Chairman of Ifo Local Government Council, Hon. Idris Olalekan Kusimo, was equally in attendance, lending further weight to the landmark event. Business tycoon, Chief Muraino Banjoko (Threeco), was also ably present, further highlighting the broad-based support and recognition the project attracted.

The ceremony also had the presence of the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) of Agbado and Ajuwon, who represented the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, while DIG Adeniji (Rtd.) lent further credence with his attendance.

The event was further dignified by the presence of royal fathers, including His Royal Majesty (HRM), Oba Sulaimon Bamgbade, the Olofin of Isheri and Adimula of Awori Kingdom; the Olu of Oke-Aro, Oba Ezekiel Oloyede Sodipo; the Olu of Mapara; and the Onishaga of Ishaga Abosule, among other revered traditional rulers. The Baales of several communities were also on ground to lend their support and blessings to the milestone project.

Community leaders, led by their Grand Patron, Alhaji Olowo, alongside grassroots stakeholders, also joined in the celebration of the landmark achievement.

Adding to the significance of the event, union leaders were also in attendance, including the State Chairman of ROMO, Dr. Rasak Sotayo (Solebo), and the State Chairman of ROTO, Comr. Ismail Olarenwaju Yusuf (MonYahShau), who both commended the initiative and pledged continuous collaboration in promoting community safety.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Fola Salami underscored the significance of the project:

“This project is more than just a building; it is a symbol of safety, trust, and the government’s commitment to protecting its people. I remain resolute in my determination to deliver projects that truly touch lives and uplift our communities. Security is the foundation of development, and with this police station, Oke-Aro is better positioned for peace, growth, and progress.”

The Oke-Aro Police Station now stands as part of Hon. Salami’s expanding portfolio of people-focused projects, which include borehole water schemes, educational facilities, and healthcare interventions across the constituency.

With this commissioning, Hon. Salami continues to demonstrate visionary leadership and a strong commitment to ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every ward and community he represents.
